A Dead Bore

Though Lady Julia Fieldhurst decided to avoid London gossip about her husband's murder by visiting in Yorkshire, tragedy followed her. The vicar, who had almost completed a volume on local history, died in a vicarage fire. Julia, suspecting this might have been murder, summoned John Pickett of Bow Street to investigate.
